Juniper Berries

Origin: Native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean, as well as Norway, Russia, and North America.

Flavour: Sharp, spicy, and piney, and taste is that of gin.

Uses: Flavour gin, wild meats, cuts richness of fatty meats like duck and pork, used marinades, rubs and sauces. Caution: Juniper should be avoided by pregnant women and anyone with a kidney disorder.
